LEOTC is not replacing the role of the classroom teacher. LEOTC programmes can provide opportunities for teachers to assess students in a number of areas.

All NCEA assessments need to be moderated. If you are providing schools with pre-set assessment programmes, the programmes will need to be moderated by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
