Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO) delivers experiential learning programmes in partnership with schools that incorporate adventurous, environmental, wellbeing and cultural elements.  WIO is a not for profit education organisation established in 1986, they strive to achieve positive change in individuals and communities. The programming provides a wide range of outdoor, nature and cultural experiences that are weaved together to enrich and support local curriculum.

The Suter Art Gallery Te Ara Toi o Whakatū - The Bishop Suter Trust

The Suter Art Gallery Te Aratoi o Whakatū is the public art gallery for the Nelson Tasman region. Located beside the Queens Gardens on the edge of downtown Nelson it is one of the oldest art galleries in New Zealand, with a rich history dating back to the late 19th century, when it was founded in memory of the second bishop of Nelson. The Suter now serves as a contemporary gallery and inspiring education space. As well as the exhibition galleries, it is the home of the Nelson Suter Art Society, has a 150-seat theatre, an outdoors sculpture walk, a popular café and a gallery shop.

The Suter runs Ministry of Education supported Enriching Local Curriculum programmes for schools and early learning centres featuring a range of varied learning experiences for students including authentic, hands-on / minds-on learning activities, with opportunities to respond to the art works on display in many ways across the curriculum. Take advantage of The Suter’s ever changing exhibition programme featuring local, national and international shows, our rich permanent collection of artworks and unique setting to support your delivery of the New Zealand curriculum.

The Suter is flexible enough to fit in with your programmes and timetable and can cater for groups of all abilities, sizes, and interests.
